I am a writer and artist who grew up under a willow tree in the Welsh border village of Rossett. I lived merrily in Byron Bay for 13 years, but came home because I missed the rain.

I currently live in Devon, where I wander the woods and homeschool my son Atlas (who is doing wonderfully well with his own writing, which you can read about here).

As a child, I dreamt of 'soot-men' under my bed. Forty years later, I learned about the Gresford Colliery disaster, less than two miles from where I lived, with the bodies of the miners still entombed underground. Inspired by their story, I started writing The Wind Road, and a decade later, here it is.

They say traces of memory get caught in the rock and play like tape recorders over time. I believe they are traces of love.

Thank you for your interest, and I do hope you enjoy the book.
